Collection

What you're going to find here is a showcase of various items of merch among other things I have collected. Maybe those are links, images or music but I'll see what I can do ^^ (please excuse the clunky collection index, I did my best ^^;)

By the way, the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button will take you to a random hyperlink I listed here.

collection index (legend: physical, online/digital or considering)

books

    Literature:

  • Alice in Wonderland and Behind the Looking Glass
  • this actually is my favorite book, it's whimsical nature makes it a joy to read and I always like to mention the authoor was indeed a mathematician

  • No Longer Human
  • I liked it though I wouldn't say it's fun, it's more of a glimpse into the mind of someone deeply depressed and troubled though this is what gives it merit

    Artbooks:

  • Foootsteps, Mygo Artboook
  • there's a drama CD coming with it I have yet to listen to but it gives great insight into the production

manga

    Yuri:

  • Whisper Me a Love Song
  • A cute Yuri series with wonderful artwork and a wholesome story

  • The Summer You Were There
  • tragic yuri about a depressed author girl moving on and finding inspiration by virtue of an ephemeral bond

  • Destroy it all and Love Me in Hell
  • the localized title pretty much is perfect so I won't add anything to comment further

    Yonkoma:

  • Azumanga Daioh
  • a classic yonkoma comedy

  • Bocchi The Rock!
  • known for the anime but the manga is great too

  • Null Meta
  • another great series in Manga Time Kirara MAX, pretty much modern Lucky Star with some creative paneling in later chapters

  • Lucky Star
  • you probably already know about Konata and co., not much happens but still fun

  • Shoulder a Coffin Kuro
  • a more story heavy Kirara series with a fantasy setting and pretty artstyle

  • GA Art Design Club
  • by the same author as Kuro but more akin to something like Hidamari Sketch

  • Harumination
  • pretty obscure Kirara gag series about an alien, humour mostly relies oon puns but it's fun and still gets some recognition; I even got some merch ^^

  • Girls' Last Tour
  • Chiito and Yuuri's journey through an apocalyptic wasteland

  • Shimeji Simulation
  • Follow former Hikkikomori Shijima on her surreal yet whimsical daily life. One of my favorites, first manga I read online

  • Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu
  • a nice uplifting manga about the shy Hitori Bocchi becoming friens with her whole class

    Other:

  • Fall In Love you false angels
  • cool Shoujo series, I sadly forgot the character names but it's really good I promise

  • Usuzumi no Hate
  • wandering to clean up the post apocalypse, it's far more interesting than I make it sound

  • The World God Only Knows
  • follow hardcore galge otaku Keima Katsuragi on his quest to safe the world... by dating girls in a sidekick role using backward dating sim logic against his will, there really is more to it though

  • Atelier of Witch Hat
  • it's been a while since I read it but it's a great series with a really cool magic system and great story

  • Bungo Stray Dogs
  • I only really follow it to pass time now but it's still cool

  • Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
  • fall into despair as you realize the english translation got axed while the skimp on the translation

magazines

    General:

  • Kikan S
  • a Japanese magazine about illustrations and any form of culture surrounding them, they even got with Akiyuki Shinbou and Kunihiko Ikuhara involved

  • Small S
  • related to the Kikan S but moreso focused on reader participation and the making of illustrations itself

  • Moyori
  • some magazine from the early 2000s about otaku culture, most notably VNs

    Manga Magazines:

  • Manga Time Kirara (MAX)
  • pretty much any slice of life series featuring some cute girls came from here

  • Comic Yurihime
  • this is the reason why yurifans call themselves himejoshi/himedanshi/himejin actually

  • Harta
  • pretty cool seinen magazine I should read more of, Dungeon Meshi got serialized here along Usuzumi no Hate

  • Rakuen - La paradis
  • pretty cool josei magazine I should read more of they did also serialize manga by some authors I like

audiovisual
anime
  • Bakemonogatari
  • the start of something big, I should watch it again

  • Haibane Renmei
  • a beautiful series, just watch it

  • Series Experiments Lain
  • probably well known enough for me to omit a comment

  • K-On!
  • did you know that Naoko Yamada was drawn to animation by the czech alice adaption? anyway it's a wonderful series with fun music

  • Hidamari Sketch
  • one of shaft's earliest efforts and the first Kirara adaptation, a pioneer of its genre that still holds up thanks to shaft's direction

  • Gochiusa
  • really cute series about girls working at cafes in totally not Colmar, a nice and cozy watch

  • Revolutionary Girl Utena
  • one of the best anime ever made

  • Bang Dream It's Mygo
  • this may have well chaged the trajectory my life, ep. 10 is something I think about every week

  • Bang Dream Ave Mujica
  • any description would fail to encapsulate how it feels to watch ave mujica

  • Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
  • the anime may have had a lasting impact on my humour as I started thinking jokes nearly no one understands are the height of comedy, anyhow by season 2 this turns into proto-madoka as Gekidan Inu Curry gets involved while somehow being related to Utena in three ways, 1. Ikuhara drew an endcrad illustration, 2. both make homages to Shuuji Terayama and angura theatre at large and 3. Shinbo and Ikuhara both are seen as succesors Osamu Dezaki

music
  • Soutaisei Riron
  • a japanese indie rock band, Ultra Soda by them is one of my favorite songs ever

  • Yakushimaru Etsuko
  • the vocalist oof Soutaisei Rirn, she has a sooft voice and also made music for some anime

Chuuni Goth Music (this is an accurate description, trust me):

  • Shoujo Byou
  • a metal dojin circle with music by RS-Sounds and Pixelbee with some lore built around witches and stuff that's all surprisingly indepth and can be looked into on Tumblr via various lyric translation blogs, the music just is great too (they even feature choirs and strings which makes it even more grand); their final one Shinten Seksalis is one of my favorites

  • Hatsuki Yura
  • a doujin singer with an extensive catalogue and some involvement in rhythm game music, her albums often have a fantasy type concept to them and are more on an electronic side while still staying true to the aesthetic

    Vocaloid:

  • Ochiai Ito
  • a great vocaloid procuer for math rock/emo type music with an ethereal touch, probably my favorite now

games
  • Taiko no Tastujin
  • one of the first rhythm games I ever played and still one of my favorites

  • The Idolmaster
  • while I sadly only played the Gacha titles so far I do want to check out more of the franchise; I also have Ranko and Tooru cards as wallpapers and use a Hiro pfp on Discord too by the way
